Foundation purpose and background

The Korea Institute for Healthcare Accreditation (KOIHA) was established as a hub for a healthcare accreditation system and other assessments on medical institutions in order to improve healthcare quality and patient safety, thereby contributing to enhancing and maintaining public health.
KOIHA was founded based on
Article 58 of the Medical Service Act.
It is an exclusive accreditation body that performs the accreditation program, which is designated and entrusted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare.
